Real Stars Awards: Vipers’ forward up against Wakiso’s duo

For the last time this year, the Fortbet Real Stars Monthly Awards shall be held at Roof Top, Garden City to recognize the outstanding performers in various sports disciplines for November.

In the football category Vipers SC forward Yunus Sentamu has been nominated alongside Wakiso Giants FC’s duo of Titus Ssematimba and Ibrahim Kasule.

Sentamu played an integral part as the Venoms went seven games unbeaten in November by winning six against Maroons FC, Blacks Power FC, Arua Hill SC, UPDF FC, URA FC, and SC Villa while they drew with Wakiso Giants.

In the process, he scored six goals. A brace in a 3-0 victory against Maroons, a hat trick in a 4-0 thumping of UPDF, and once in a 2-0 win over Villa.

On the other hand, Ssematimba was part of the Uganda Hippos team that defended the CECAFA crown and qualified for AFCON U-20.

He was named the CECAFA player of the tournament following his brilliant performance at a regional showpiece that was held in Sudan.

Ssematimba scored twice at the tournament in a 2-0 win over Tanzania at the start of the competition and in the final during a 2-1 win over South Sudan where he scored the winning goal.

Meanwhile, Ssematimba’s teammate at the club level Kasule was remarkable scoring three goals and managing as many assists as Wakiso Giants bossed the Uganda Premier League in November.

Kasule’s three goals came in a 1-1 draw with Vipers and the 2-1 and 3-2 wins over Villa and Express FC respectively.

Besides football, the best performers in five other categories will also be rewarded and these are; basketball, golf, hockey, netball, and Ludo.

At the same ceremony, a Real SuperStar will be rewarded for winning the most Real Star Monthly Awards throughout the year.
